Hamar Laghdad, Fm. Kess-Kess, Emsian and earlist Eifelian brachipods (Devonian to of Morocco)

Where: Morocco (31.4° N, 4.0° W: paleocoordinates 51.4° S, 25.6° E)

• coordinate stated in text

When: Kess-Kess Formation (Saheb el Rhassel Group), Emsian to Emsian (407.6 - 387.7 Ma)

• Emsian and earlist Eifelian (late Early to earlist Middle Devonian)

Environment/lithology: deep subtidal shelf; lithified limestone

• The material collected should enhance interpretation of environment as a mixture of quieter water, with soft bottom (small and smooth shells) and high energy environments (thick shells).
• -About 12 m of limestone were recorded, whereas underlying and overlying strata are dolomitised. This limestone represents inter-mound carbonates.

Size class: macrofossils
