• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the Curacao Lava, for which lithostratigraphic relations are not discussed in text. AGE: late Middle Albian, on the basis of K/Ar-dating and ammonite biostratigraphy. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From unknown position within formation.

Environment/lithology: coastal; metamorphosed, conglomeratic volcaniclastic sediments

• ENVIRONMENT: Shallow marine siliciclastic setting.
• SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Thin silica-rich, pelagic intercalations in the hyaloclastites (thermal shock breccias) and pillow breccias.. LITHIFICATION: Low-grade metamophosed, as stated in the text.
