Stratigraphy
Geological group:Tremp Formation:Grey Garumnian
Stratigraphic resolution:group of beds
Stratigraphy comments: Magnetostratigraphy indicates an early Maastrichtian age for the site, within the C31r; layer is approximately 30 meters above the base of the Tremp Formation. Eggs from level B-FUM10

The Tremp Formation can be subdivided into four informal lithological units named as follows from the base to the top: the “Grey Garumnian”, the “Lower Red Garumnian” (here abbreviated to the LRG unit), the Vallcebre Limestone (and lateral equivalents) and the “Upper Red Garumnian” (Rosell et al., 2001). The Grey Garumnian Fm. is also known as the Posa Formation. Breva and Closas 2012 noted that the Posa Formation's charophyte assemblage is characteristic of Early Maastrichtian.
