Stratigraphy comments: The fossiliferous beds are yellow calcareous sandstone and sandy limestones. Nearby silty clays yield a lower Miocene age.Sandstones of Pugu Formation. These beds are mainly quartz sands nand sandstones, they are soft, richly kaolinitic and sometimes feldspathic. Occasionally they are current bedded with red and green clay partings; locally they have channel structures. |
