Paleocoordinates:13.4° North, 105.2° East
Basis of coordinate:based on nearby landmark
Geographic resolution:outcrop
Time
Period:Cretaceous Epoch:Early/Lower Cretaceous
Key time interval:Berriasian - Barremian
Age range of interval:145.00000 - 121.40000 m.y. ago
Stratigraphy
Formation:Phra Wihan
Stratigraphic resolution:bed
Stratigraphy comments: Unit ms4. These fossiliferous beds represent a short period during deposition in the Upper Triassic to Upper Jurassic Nan - Phayao Basin. The exact stratigraphic age of the fossils is unknown due to the lack of index species in the non-marine series. Ward & Bunnag (1964) suggested a Middle Jurassic age for the Phra Wihan Formation from its relative position within the succession.
