Lithology and environment
Primary lithology: lithified "limestone"
Secondary lithology: lithified sandstone
Lithology description: The bivalve yielding Member B1 consists of conglomerate, sandstone, mudstone, limestone and alternating beds of sandstone and mudstone. The conglomerate contains chert, shale and granite pebbles. The medium grained poorly sorted sandstone beds contain coaly inclusions and abundant nonmarine and marine mollusks. Limestone beds are ooliticpeloidal and bioclastic grainstones (Morino, 1993). This unit is approximately 170 m thick.
