Stratigraphy
Lithology and environment
| Primary lithology: | very fine lithified sandstone |
| Lithology description: Lithology.—The Gannohana Member covers the underlying Hokahira Member with a sharp erosional base (Locs. 2903, 1707), and is disconformably overlain by the Karakizaki Formation. The lower part (60– 110 m thick) consists of several kinds of sandstones. It is mainly composed of fine- to medium-grained, trough and hummocky cross-stratified sandstone. Very finegrained sandstone predominates in the western part of Goshoura Island (Locs. 1811, 1822). | |
