Stratigraphy comments: Initially assigned to Odose Formation, but site at Odose station more recently assigned to Tanosawa Formation (Zagorsek et al., 2014). Recent nannofossil biostratigraphy indicates that this formation is correlated with nannofossil zone NN4, which ranges from late Early Miocene to early Middle Miocene (17.91 to 14.91 Ma) (Sato et al. 2010).
