| Stratigraphy comments: According to Mizuno (1962, 1964), the Manda Group is correlated with the Okinoshiman stage, set chronologically by Ozaki et al. (1991) and Mizuno (1992) in the late Middle Eocene (Bartonian). Lithology places it in the Kattachi Formation (upper part of the Miike Formation of Iguchi, 2016), which belongs to the uppermost CP13c nannofossil zone and lower CP14a, corresponding to the upper Lutetian (Iguchi, 2016). The site represents the lowermost sandstone of the Kattachi Formation (Karasawa, 1992), the "Kattachi fossil zone" of Kikuchi (1963). | |||||
