Stratigraphy
| Geological group: | Annaka | Formation: | Haraichi | ||
| Stratigraphy comments: The specimen was found in a horizon located stratigraphically between the Baba and Kamikoi- zawa tuffs. As mentioned above 40Ar/39Ar dating of the Baba tuff yielded geological ages of 11.26±0.09 Ma (biotite) and 11.29 ± 0.12 Ma (sanidine) (Odin et al., 1997). Although the age of the Kamikoizawa tuff, which overlies the horizon from which the paratype specimen was found, is unknown, Takahashi and Hayashi (2004) estimated an earliest late Miocene age based on sedimentation rates.
