Stratigraphy
Geological group:Iwamura Formation:Toyama Member:Maki
Stratigraphy comments: Toyama Formation, Iwamura Group, upper lower Miocene. MFM 18190 was recovered from the Kubohara facies of the Maki Member, Toyama Formation, Iwamura Group. Ito et al. (1999) assigned the Maki Member to the Crucidenticula sawamurae Zone (Barron and Gladenkov, 1995; Yanagisawa and Akiba, 1998) based on diatom biostratigraphy. The age of the Toyama Formation has been estimated to be 17–16Ma (late Burdigalian) by fission track dating (Sasao et al., 2011).
