Lithology description: Ozaki 1991; Plant fossils occur tuffaceous siltstone, which is hollowed by erosion near the river bed. Tuffaceous siltstone grades upward into thick sand and gravel beds of 2 m thickness, which comprise Oyster bed with abundant Glycymeris cisshuensis Makiyama and Chlamys kaneharai. The plant-bearing rocks are in the sandstone rich facies of the middle part of the lower member.
