Stratigraphy comments: The Gannohana Member contains Marriella oehlerti and Graysonites adkinsi (ammonoids). In the southwesterly adjacent Shishi Island, these ammonoids and Graysonites cf. fountaini are found in the Goshoura Group, and suggest an early Cenomanian age (Matsumoto, 1954; Matsumoto and Amano, 1960).
