Stratigraphy comments: Said to be from the Sakamizu Formation, but this unit has been subdivided in later papers into the Norimatsu, Jinno-baru, and Honjo Formations. According to the stratigraphic column in Ando & Karasawa (2010), the Norimatsu and Jinno-baru Formations belong to the latest Rupelian lower calcareous nannofossil Subzone CP19a of Okada and Bukry (1980) and the Honjo Formation is in upper zone CP19a, spanning the Rupelian-Chattian boundary.
