Paleocoordinates:
Basis of coordinate:estimated from map
Geographic resolution:outcrop
Time
Period: Paleogene Epoch: Eocene
10 m.y. bin: Cenozoic 2-3
Key time interval: Middle Eocene
Age range of interval: 48.07 - 37.71 m.y. ago
Stratigraphy
Formation:Miyara
Local section:Is-DF-26-55
Regional section:Ibaruma
Stratigraphic resolution:bed
Stratigraphy comments: Conglomerate bed in bedded volcanics. The Miyara Formation rests on the eerosional surface of an intensely folded Paleozoic formation, and is overlain by the Miocene Yaeyama coal-bearing group. Foraminifera support an upper Eocene age, while molluscs confirm a middle Miocene age

Lithology description: Conglomerate of subrounded to rounded pebbles derived from the Ishigaki Group embedded in a gray, greenish-gray, reddish-brown or tan sandy, clayey, or limey matrix
Environment:coastal indet.
