Stratigraphy comments: STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From Meshikuni Fm, which unconformably overlies the Cretaceous Rebun Gp and is unconformably overlain by the Hamanaka Fm (?Middle Miocene). THICKNESS: From bed of less than 10 m within an appoximately ~250 m thick composite (discontinous) section. AGE: Early Miocene on the basis of molluscan biostratigraphy. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From middle part of Meshikuni Fm.
