Environment/lithology: submarine fan; diatomaceous shale and siltstone

• The specimen was found in finely laminated diatomaceous shale interbedded with siltstone and mudstone. Such a stratigraphic sequence originated at bathyal depths as part of a submarine fan (Critelli et al., 1995).
