When: Baltoniodus alobatus conodont zone, Vasalemma Formation, Keila (453.9 - 453.0 Ma)

• Conodont zone based on Hints, Martma, Männik, Nolvak, Poldvere, Shen & Viira 2014. See also Bergström in Ebbestad et al. 2007. Formation is divided into four members, but no member information provided. (Only one, the Saku, extends into the Oandu.) Vasalemma overlies the Kahula formation and underlies the Ragavere formation.

Environment/lithology: reef, buildup or bioherm; lithified, shelly/skeletal grainstone and limestone

• Lithologically, the Vasalemma Formation consists of bioclastic grainstones and reef-core limestones (Kröger et al. 2014). It comprises a succession of facies, including a bryozoan framestone, echinoderm bindstone, bryozoan–receptaculitid–microbial framestone, and tabulate bafflestone (Kröger et al. 2014, 2016).
