Entomozoacean ostracods, E. (E.) splendens Zone, Plucki section, Holy Cross Mts. (Devonian of Poland)

Where: Poland (50.8° N, 21.1° E: paleocoordinates 18.1° S, 30.9° E)

• coordinate based on political unit

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Frasnian (382.7 - 372.2 Ma)

• Collection from Entomoprimitia (E.) splendens Zone, roughly corresponding with Pa. rhenana-Pa. linguiformis conodont zones. Included in this collection are assemblages at a number of levels from about 0 to 12 m in the section.

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marine; marl and shale

• Sequence is interpreted by author as "deep intrashelf basin (outer part of the epicontinental sea), which was situated on the SE edge of the Laurussian palaeocontinent in a subtropical belt..."
• [According to section diagram, "marly limestones and shales" are predominant, with some shale beds.] "The sequence consists of rhythmically bedded, commonly black and laminated marly limestones and shales..."
