• Late Chesterian-early Pennsylvanian. 'My collections were taken from the lower part of the Manning Canyon shale up to and including the Medial Limestone'.

•JA: sponge is from "deeply weathered shale immediately below the 'medial' limestone" and is "latest Chesterian" = Arnsbergian (Rigby 1959)
