Taxonomy
Donax (Donax) parinensis was named by Olsson (1928). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Keswick Hills [Parinas Fm], which is in a Bartonian coastal sandstone/conglomerate in the Parinas Formation of Peru.
