Taxonomy
Nuculopsis imperta was named by Waterhouse (1964). Its type specimen is NZGS TM3519 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is GS6323, east tributary of Letham Burn (D44/f9672), which is in a Roadian marine horizon in the Letham Formation of New Zealand.
