Taxonomy
Cheiloporina was named by Canu and Bassler (1923) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo R]. It is extant. It is the type genus of Cheiloporinidae.

It was assigned to Cheilostomata by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cheiloporinidae by Bassler (1953), Cheetham (1962), Berning (2006) and Bock (2006).
