Taxonomy
Maitaia orulganica was named by Biakov (2013). Its type specimen is SVKNII 209/02.06-99, a valve (right valve), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Besyuke River, Orulgan Mountains (SVKNII coll), which is in a Wuchiapingian marine siliciclastic in the Dulgalakh Formation of the Russian Federation.
