Taxonomy
Clementia subdiaphana was named by Carpenter (1864). It is extant. It is the type species of Compsomyax.

It was recombined as Callista subdiaphana by Arnold (1903); it was recombined as Marcia subdiaphana by Moody (1916); it was recombined as Venerella (Compsomyax) subdiaphana by Stewart (1930); it was recombined as Compsomyax subdiaphana by Woodring and Bramlette (1950), Coan and Valentich-Scott (2012) and Hendy (2021).

Synonyms
  • Clementia obliqua was named by Jukes-Brown (1913). It is extant.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Venerella (Compsomyax) subdiaphana by Stewart (1930).
