Pseudotypotherium subinsigne was named by Rovereto (1914).

Synonyms
  • Pseudotypotherium carhuense was named by Cabrera (1937). Its type specimen is MLP 37-III-7-1, a maxilla (Parte del maxilar derecho con los m'-', y mandíbnl¡t incom- pleta, sin los incisivos, en el lado derecho conservada hasta la mitad del m I y en el izquierdo has), and it is a 3D body fossil.

    It was synonymized objectively with Pseudotypotherium subinsigne by Cerdeño and Montalvo (2001).
