Taxonomy
Isocardia was named by Lamarck (1799) [m. kosnik taxon no: 4310].

It was synonymized subjectively with Glossus by Vokes (1980).

It was assigned to Bivalvia by Dickerson (1916); and to Isocardiidae by Glenn (1904), Popenoe (1937) and Bouchet et al. (2010).
