• "Upper Lias, Zone of Ammonites serpentinus Reincke, Whitby, Yorkshire, England. According to William E. Schevill Ammonites serpentinus Reincke-Hildoceratoides serpentinus (Reincke) after S. S. Buckman. This zone would then be the Hildoceratan zone of Evans and Stubblefield, which is middle Whitbian. The specimen probably came from near the bottom of the Alum shale."
