Jackson Locality Michigan Coal Basin (Carboniferous of the United States)
Where: Jackson County, Michigan (42.3° N, 84.4° W: paleocoordinates 5.7° S, 20.8° W)
When: Saginaw Group, Pennsylvanian (323.2 - 298.9 Ma)
• Found in ironstone and shale found only in place at the Grand Ledge localiy, assumed that these pieces were carried by ice from near there to the Jackson site.
Environment/lithology:
• Plants found in clay ironstone nodules and pieces of dark shale.
Preservation: adpression
