Environment/lithology: alluvial fan; lithified, gray, sandy mudstone

• The Monro Conglomerate, deposited as alluvial and colluvial sediments in a terrestrial environment (Field & Browne 1986, 1989; Andrews et al. 1987)
• This 2-m-thick bed consists of medium grey, hard gritty mudstone, part of a 200 m sequence of interbedded conglomerates and carbonaceous mudstones of the Monro Conglomerate
