Isorthis ovalis Comm. of Jura Form. (Silurian of Lithuania)

Where: Lithuania (55.3° N, 22.3° E: paleocoordinates 15.1° S, 0.8° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• local area-level geographic resolution

When: Jura Formation, Pridoli (423.0 - 419.2 Ma)

• formation-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marine; gray, green marl and limestone

• "Occurs in greenish-gray marls and biomorphic (organogenic-detrital) limestones of the third facies zone, which permits assignment to BA 3. Disarticulated values of Isorthis ovalis are abundant and articulated specimens rare, which suggests a normal level of turbulence (the specimens are commonly well preserved).

Collection methods: Several collections of this formation combined. Author also gives data on absolute and relative abundance.

Purpose of describing collection: paleoecologic analysis
