Where: Yunnan, China (24.7° N, 102.6° E)
• Paleocoordinates: 22.3° N, 60.7° E (Wright 2013)
• coordinate estimated from map
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Zhongyicun Member (Yuhucun Formation), Nemakit-Daldynian (538.8 - 525.5 Ma)
• Assigned to the Zhongyicun Member of the Meishucun Formation by Wang et al. (1983). M.Y. Zhu et al. (2001) argued for assigning this member to the Zhujiaqing Formation instead, although other papers assigned it to the Yuhucun Formation (R.X. Zhu et al., 2009, Tang et al., 2021). This interval is above the first appearance of small shelly fossils (shown by Wang et al. 1983) but below a volcanic ash dated by U-Pb SHRIMP at 535.2 +/- 1.7 Ma (R.X. Zhu et al., 2009), indicating an earliest Cambrian (Fortunian) age.
