When: Stone Knife Formation (Little Dal Group), Tonian (1000.0 - 850.0 Ma)
• From the "Basinal Assemblage," named the Stone Knife Formation by Turner & Long (2012). The minimum depositional age is constrained by a 780 Ma crosscutting intrusion in the Mackenzie Mountains, but the formation is correlated with the Boot Inlet Formation of the Shaler Supergroup on the basis of lithostratigraphy and carbon isotope chemostratigraphy (Greenman et al., 2020). A shale bed in the upper Boot Inlet Formation yielded an Re-Os age of 892 +/- 13 Ma, suggesting that the Stone Knife Formation may be older than this age (Greenman et al., 2020).
