Enterolasma Assemblage, Lochkovian, Appalachian belt (Devonian of the United States)

Where: New York (43.0° N, 74.0° W: paleocoordinates 34.9° S, 33.1° W)

• coordinate based on political unit

• basin-level geographic resolution

When: Lochkovian (419.2 - 410.8 Ma)

Environment/lithology: marine; carbonate

• "I agree [with Boucot] that this is a high diversity, low dominance community as a whole, and a BA 4-5 position seems reasonable. Conditions were marginal for corals; only solitary, nondissepimented rugosans are present, and most of these are small. Tabulate colonies are also commonly small..The limiting factor may have been mud."

Collection methods: Emphasis here is on the rugosans. Tabulates, brachiopods, and sponges present but not listed.
