• Accoroding to the scheme proposed by Wang(1987,1990), the Early Carboniferous sequence is bracketed between the underlying Ordovician and overlaying Upper Carboniferous, and comprises the Chuanshangou, Chengqianggou, and Huaitoutala Formations in ascending order.
