Also known as Lizzie site

Where: Alaska (61.9° N, 147.3° W: paleocoordinates 64.8° N, 93.8° W)

• coordinate stated in text

• small collection-level geographic resolution

When: 4 Member (Matanuska Formation), Middle Turonian (93.5 - 89.3 Ma)

• "Member 4, Unit C-1"

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: offshore; bioturbated, concretionary, pyritic, gray, calcareous mudstone

• "middle- to outer-shelf or upper bathyal environment"
• "The bone-bearing unit consists of an easily weathered, dark gray, marine mudstone, containing highly indurated calcareous concretions and finely disseminated pyrite crystals. Horizontal laminae, ripples, and evidence of bioturbation are faintly visible only on wet fresh surfaces." Concretions are sometimes bone-bearing (i.e. nucleated on flesh fragments), sometimes not.

Size classes: macrofossils, mesofossils, microfossils

Preservation: concretion

Collected in 1994; reposited in the TMM

Collection methods: salvage, quarrying, mechanical,
