Environment/lithology: transition zone or lower shoreface; lithified, fine-grained siltstone and lithified limestone

• The Wiragulla Beds are composed of distinctive grey to pale fawn mudstones and fine-grained sandstones.
• [The Ararat Formation] is composed of calcareous tuffaceous sandstone with minor mudstones and oolitic and crinoidal limestone lenses. L.235 Dungog occurs in a calcareous sandstone and impure limestone.
