Also known as I. U. locality 17447
Where: Monroe County, Indiana (39.3° N, 86.5° W: paleocoordinates 20.4° S, 33.1° W)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Ramp Creek Formation, Osagean (352.0 - 343.0 Ma)
• No section was measured at locality 6, an abandoned limestone quarry in the Morgan-Monroe State Forest. The Ramp Creek crops out in the quarry; however, neither the Edwardsville Formation nor the Harrodsburg Limestone were evident. All specimens were collected from a lense of grainstone and rudstone along the south side of the quarry near its base.
• bed-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: shallow subtidal; grainstone
Collection methods: A substantial collection of the macrofauna of the Ramp Creek Formation and Harrodsburg Limestone, assembled by J. J. Galloway in the middle of this century and housed at Indiana University, was examined for comparative purposes and used as supplementary material for photography. The fossils collected here are exceptionally well-preserved.
