• Holland and Patzkowsky, 1996 have the "Martinsburg" here as the "Reedsville"

•Based on Kreisa (1980, VA Tech Ph.D. thesis), this is "Martinsburg", probably "Trenton" equivalent

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: offshore shelf; poorly lithified, argillaceous, silty shale

• Holland and Patzkowsky, 1996 have the "Martinsburg" here as the "Reedsville"
• Laminated, light-olive-gray, calcareous, silty clay shale, rarely with very-fine sand and minor bioturbation

Size classes: macrofossils, mesofossils

Preservation: trace, replaced with pyrite
