New record of the species Acregoliath rancii from the La Venta fauna in Colombia. Northern-most record, provides information on lepidosis in this poorly-known Teleost.

Distribution: found only at Cerro Gordo Locality 2, UCMP V-4531 (Miocene of Colombia)
