Type specimen: ANSP 12694, a mandible (posterior mandible fragment). Its type locality is Bells Bridge, which is in a Pliocene shallow subtidal sandstone in the Yorktown Formation of North Carolina.

Ecology: aquatic carnivore-suspension feeder

Distribution: found only at Bells Bridge
