Type specimen: U. Iowa J.B. Owen Coll. 6145, a shell. Its type locality is Loc. 39. Banks of Honey Creek near point where country road crosses stream at ford, ~2 miles north of Harvey, which is in a Desmoinesian marine shale in the Cabaniss Formation of Missouri.
