Type specimens:
- Stenopora ovata: Its type locality is Southern Van Diemen's Land (Porter Hill shoreline), which is in a Sakmarian marine siltstone/limestone in the Bundella Formation of Australia
- Stenopora pustulosa: Sydney Univ 5436. Its type locality is Rathbone's Quarry, Rayner Creek, Mount Nassau, which is in a Kungurian carbonate wackestone in the Berriedale Formation of Australia.
