Type specimens:
- Betaneospirifer neomarcoui: PIN 6/5969. Its type locality is Chidru, topmost Middle Productus, Salt Range, which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in the Wargal Formation of Pakistan.

Distribution:
• Permian of China (10 collections), Nepal (9), Pakistan (1)
