Sister taxa: Latispirifer amplissimus, Latispirifer archboldorum
Type specimen: CPC 24292, a shell (Articulated shell). Its type locality is BMR F6960, Thambrong Pool, Minilya River, Williambury Station, which is in a Sakmarian coastal siliciclastic in the Callytharra Formation of Australia.
