Sister taxa: Aotus azarae, Aotus griseimembra, Aotus nancymaae, Aotus trivirgatus

Type specimen: IGM-KU 8601, a partial skull (left hemimandible with right I1-leftM3 and a left maxillary fragment preserving roots of P3-M2 and the lingual half of M3). Its type locality is El Dinde Locality 9-86-A, which is in a Friasian terrestrial horizon in the Honda Formation of Colombia.

Ecology: arboreal omnivore

Distribution:

• Miocene of Colombia (2 collections)
