Type specimens:

• Schuchertoceras troedssoni: RM Mo 150151, a shell (adorally incomplete). Its type locality is Kallholn, Siljan District, which is in a Katian reef, buildup or bioherm lime mudstone in the Boda Limestone Formation of Sweden.
• Schuchertoceras ringerikiense: Its type locality is Ringerike, Bønsnes Fm., which is in a Rawtheyan/Hirnantian carbonate limestone/lime mudstone in the Bønsnes Formation of Norway.
