Sister taxa: Tupuxuara deliradamus, Tupuxuara longicristatus

Type specimen: MCT 1495-R, a partial skull (Incomplete anterior skull). Its type locality is Santana do Cariri (general), which is in an Aptian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal shale in the Romualdo Formation of Brazil.

Ecology: volant piscivore

Distribution: found only at Santana do Cariri (general)
