Type specimen: BP/1/5551, a partial skull (Right posterior portion of skull). Its type locality is Farm Wilgerkloof, which is in an Anisian terrestrial sandstone in the Burgersdorp Formation of South Africa.
Ecology: amphibious carnivore
Distribution: found only at Farm Wilgerkloof
