Sister taxon: Yuanansuchus maopingchangensis
Type specimen: IVPP V 13463, a skull (Nearly complete skull). Its type locality is Maopingchang, which is in an Anisian coastal horizon in the Xinlingzhen Formation of China.
Ecology: amphibious carnivore
Distribution: found only at Maopingchang
